UPDATE:  Because of a multitude of reasons ranging from scoping the joint taxonomy to major changes in org structures of key stakeholders, the IR&D TIMs event planned for May 2024 has been cancelled and may be rescheduled for mid-late 2025.

We highly encourage you to join us for what we anticipate to be a very insightful technology engagement! This is a heads-up notice of the impending announcement with the technical details for our technology interchange between senior Government and Industry experts in a domain with strong demand signals throughout the Department of Defense (DoD)!

Several DoD Communities of Interest (COIs), including Sensors and Processing (S&P), Command, Control, Communications, Computers & Intelligence (C4I), Electronic Warfare (EW), Cyberspace, Kinetic Weapons (KW), and Advanced Electronics (AE) are requesting technology insight from industry on their Independent Research & Development (IR&D) portfolios and corporate investments that could be applied to closing a Long-Range Kill Chain (LRKC) or successfully completing major enhancements or modernization of Long-Range Fires (LRF). Partnering with the COIs are combatant commands (US Northern Command), warfighting major commands (Air Combat Command, AF Global Strike Command, Army Joint Modernization Command), Air Force Futures, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), the Army’s Fires Center of Excellence, and mission critical agencies like Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), the Air Force Academy, and others. Multiple venues are being considered and will be shared as soon as a site is selected.

The COIs are forming their taxonomy of high interest areas and demand signals which will be minimally formatted as Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and distributed through DoD SAFE. If the taxonomy reaches a classified level, documents will be shared using SIPRNet once all protocol and security requirements are met. The pending announcement on the Defense Innovation Marketplace (DIM) will include instructions for expressing interest and critical actions. Note: The classification level for this event is anticipated at the Collateral Secret level. Higher levels will be considered, by exception.

This invitation is open to all DoD defense contractors with IR&D and/or corporate investments, including large and small businesses, academia, National Labs, and FFRDCs, each with its certified DD Form 2345 (Military Critical Technical Data Agreement). If you wish to participate and do not already have a DD Form 2345, a guide to completing the form can be found at the following site:

Please note: Our intention is to publish the details, to include the taxonomy and venue for this event, within the next 30-45 days on both the Defense Innovation Marketplace site and on SAM.gov so please check back often!
