The Electronic Warfare (EW)
Technology Interchange (Oct. 2016)
Hosted Successful Independent Research & Development (IR&D)Technology Interchange Meeting
The Electronic Warfare (EW) Community of Interest (COI) held its first ever Independent Research and Development (IR&D) Technology Interchange Meeting (TIM) at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Sensors Directorate, WPAFB, OH during the week of 24 April 2017. The EW COI event was attended by Subject Matter Experts from Air Force, Army, Navy and OSD.
During the event, Government SMEs met with 11 companies. Individually they discussed the details of 46 IR&D investments representing over $300M ($100M IR&D + $200M other R&D) of research and development focused on IR&D technology development, addressing many of the challenges facing the warfighter’s near/mid/far-term capability needs.
Those attending the meeting agree it was a critical forum for sustaining meaningful dialogue between Government SMEs and Industry representatives. We anticipate another EW event in 2019, and will continue to share news on the Defense Innovation Marketplace and the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) websites, as well as across social media. Stay tuned for further updates.
